The Ring That Binds Us…

When we got married few years ago, we half jokingly considered Tokien’s The Ring Verse to be read as we put the rings on our fingers. I think the only reason why we did not do it is because we were not sure how my family would take the idea. I kind of wished we did though…

Because little that we know that years from that day, we actually bound by The Ring.

Of course not the real ring with the dark power to rule them all. I am talking about the game “Lord of The Rings Online”.

It started last year when we got hooked on steam games. And since I am unemployed, I thought it was a little bit frivolous to spend on games when I don’t earn the money. So I decided to try a lot of free games. This game is free to play game.

I was so excited when I found this game, as I like LOTR. I mean, I won’t call myself the biggest fan ever live in the non-middle earth universe, but I do like it. And like so many people who likes LOTR, of course I have this mini fantasy that I could one day live in Middle Earth. With this game, at the very least, I could make some of the mini fantasy come true.

I lived as a hobbit in Middle earth. What more do I want?

Grumpy was a bit doubtful when I told him that this is a f2p game, because a lot of f2p games would force the player to one day hit the massive wall and have to pay to get through that wall. I don’t think that it is the case with this LOTR online game. I have been playing for a couple of months now and I haven’t spent a dime.

So it was a little past midnight when I was running around Bree with mu little hobbit when Grumpy woke up and saw what I was playing. He thought it was probably not a bad idea at all to give it a try, and probably play the game together.

It was a bit frustrating to start with. I think Grumpy took this game too seriously -_-” But finally he could enjoy playing it without looking as if he was going to throw his laptop out of the window.

We spent New Year killing Orcs in Middle Earth,

Nuff said.

Oh Hello

Oh dear… I think we have been missing for the past few weeks, have we? I apologise for that. I think it is time for us to give some update about what we have been doing that stopped us from updating.

Two things, exactly. Holiday, and Game.

Holiday

We just came back from Hungary a couple of week ago. Yes you read it right, Hungary.

We had a wedding invitation in Hungary. My friend, who happened to be a Hungarian was getting married, and we were invited to participate in the celebration. I thought, as we were going there, might as well spend some days to get around and visit some interesting places.

Of course I am going to update with more details, and some photos later.

Game

Game is a dangerous thing. Like I said before, I am new to Steam, and now they have this Summer Sale. As the result, I bought several games that few weeks ago was not affordable for me. That was a really bad idea.

I was so engrossed in the game, and I haven’t been able to be productive since then. Yes, I need to reorganise soon.

There you go, our summer summarised in less than two hundred words 😀

Steamy Summer Weekend… Oh So Much Fun!

Ha! I think there’s no harm in learning how to lure people with title that reminds you of a free evening tabloid on a tube station. Yep… We did have a Steamy Weekend, but not the sleazy, not-children-friendly kind of Steamy Weekend. First clue, of course, there is no such thing as a Steamy Summer in Britain. It is always the windy, slightly cold, or heatwave kind of summer in here. And, second of all, I am talking about Steam the game apps.

I downloaded the apps years ago, when someone told me that he would buy me a game. I had never had someone bought me a game before that day, and I thought that was quite a unique way to woo a girl. I mean, I am not really into flowers and chocolate, so… I did download the game. But I stopped contacting the aforementioned person, although I kept the apps, and the account… and the game.

Anyway… few days ago, I decided to go back there after one of my friends mentioned that Steam has summer sale. I wonder if there’s something I’d like. And there was this free game.

I was playing it when my Grumpkin came back from work, and I told him what it was. He took a glance, and he decided he’s going to try it too. Now both of us are hooked, and we spent the whole weekend — that was supposed to be spend somewhere else. We are bad like that..

But, anyway… I just realised that even when playing computer games, Grumpy is still grumping like no one’s listening — although in this case no one did listen, because I was playing the game too, and accidentally ignored his grumpyness completely. Ooops…

Anyway… time to sleep soon, hopefully we won’t get too absorbed into this game, and pull all-nighter playing, and feel horrible tomorrow.
